Review and Compare BMX Bikes

BMX stands for bicycle motocross. These bikes are recognizable by their smaller size which adds to their maneuverability. In general there are 3 basic types of BMX bikes on the market:
  • Dirt - BMX bikes used on trails and for dirt jumping, these bikes are identified by their knobby tires used to grip the dirt tracks they ride on.

  • Race - BMX bikes used in dirt track racing, brakes are in the rear and tires tend to be thinner to reduce drag.

  • Street - BMX bikes use in freestyle events, flatland tricks and riding around the streets. These bikes are identified by their flat tread tires providing mazimum manueverability on flat surfaces.

Because of their size, BMX bikes are commonly mistaken for kids bikes, but these bikes are meant for serious BMX riders and are more expensive than most kids bikes.
